About Us
Sarai and Huxley bring nearly 50 years of combined experience working with prestigious organizations. Their unusual personal and professional backgrounds have made them uniquely qualified to create and grow a successful, community-oriented organization like The Retro Roadshow.
Sarai Dunsany
CO-Founder & Chief executive officer
Sarai’s path to co-founding a vintage tech pop-up museum blends deep heart with hard-earned experience. As the first in her family to be born on the U.S. mainland to a Japanese-American couple from Hawai‘i, Sarai spent much of her childhood working in her grandmother’s Las Vegas restaurant, where she learned the values of service, attention to detail, and perseverance.
Determined to begin her career in broadcast media at an early age, Sarai completed a dual baccalaureate in Communications and Film Production by age 21, financing her own education while working and studying full-time. This achievement laid the foundation for award-winning work with PBS, where Sarai held roles as a writer and producer, video editor, on-air host, and promotions and branding specialist.
Developing educational and celebrity-driven content for students and families across Nevada combined her love of creative storytelling with a commitment to meaningful community impact. Blending education with entertainment remains a core philosophy that shapes every hands-on, interactive Retro Roadshow experience - making learning feel exciting, inclusive, and, most of all, fun.
Sarai brings four decades of experience to her work as CEO of The Retro Roadshow, crafting one-of-a-kind live events that invite people to touch the past and connect generations. She oversees business operations, exhibition production, public relations, and visual design, while managing everything from logistics to community engagement.
As a woman of color in technology, a space often dominated by white, male voices, Sarai offers a distinct perspective and purpose: to create an experience that is inclusive, joyful, and rooted in wonder.
Huxley Dunsany
Co-founder & chief technology officer
At The Retro Roadshow, Huxley leads artifact acquisition, restoration, and preservation. He also designs their engaging multimedia presentations for audiences of all ages, conducts technical research, and manages their social media channels. Huxley loves repairing and restoring the items featured in The Retro Roadshow’s curated exhibitions, carefully balancing historical authenticity with modern practicality.
The son of beloved San Francisco street musician The Space Lady (Susan Dietrich) and multimedia artist and songwriter The Cosmic Man (Joel Dunsany), Huxley and his siblings experienced an unconventional childhood in the Bay Area. Homeschooled while living hand to mouth off the grid, Huxley's early years were defined by poverty and episodes of homelessness. Thanks to the generosity of numerous Bay Area strangers and local businesses who gave him opportunities to get ‘hands on’ with computers in the early 1990’s, Huxley was able to teach himself the fundamentals of computer science, eventually helping to support his family by working as a freelance tutor.
After completing his freshman year of high school, Huxley earned a California state diploma and began taking college classes at age 16, studying anthropology, education, computer science, and film production. While in college, he began working in retail sales which led to a position with Apple in 2004. During his years with Apple (and later Cisco Systems), Huxley gained extensive training and experience in public speaking, presentation design, technical training, customer service, and community development. Today, Huxley works with the internet security company Zscaler, leveraging his creativity and experience to train their technical sales team.
Ultimately, the adversity of his early beginnings instilled in Huxley a profound belief in the transformative power of hands-on access to technology. With The Retro Roadshow, Huxley delights in “returning the favor” to the entire Bay Area, offering hands-on access to the same early technologies that changed the direction of his life forever.
